Participation fee: 1,600 yen

Address: Matsunoyama Kurokura 1759, Tokamachi City, Niigata

Things to prepare: Please come in clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. A rain jacket, rubber boots or sneakers, gloves, hat, water bottle, towel, and camera may also come in handy.

Organized by Green Philosophy

Green Philosophy aims to develop a Food Forest in Tokamachi City, Niigata, Japan, based on Fukuoka Masanobu’s philosophy on natural farming, permaculture design, Robert and Robyn Guyton’s food forest in New Zealand, and synecoculture as kick-started by Otsuka Takashi. We hope to nurture a harmonious connection among plant, animal, and human life that would revive forests in Niigata, and ultimately, all over the country.

We are hosting volunteers who can help running the workshop and planting trees. We will provide meals as an exchange of volunteering for the day and accommodation if you can help more than one day. There is a bus for volunteers called GreenLiner from Tokyo to Matsudai only for 2,000 yen for some weekends.
