Fruit Tree Guild

One of my permaculture design course mate is coming from Tokyo to visit my food forest. We will do some sowing and planting work together. I will show her the area including some artworks from Echigo-Tsumari Art Trienniel. We welcome you to join us!


Food Forest Japan: Building Fruit Tree Guild

9:00 meeting at Eden Herb Garden (Pick up at Kamosu Mori at 8:55)
Place: Eden Herb Garden in Matsunoyama Kurokura 1759, Tokamachi City, Niigata

We have planted more than 50 fruit trees at Eden Herb Garden. To help them grow, we are building Fruit Tree Guild. The idea is to make biodiversity around the tree. At the same time those plants could give nutrition, prevent animals and pests, covering the ground with edible plants, etc.

After the workshop, we plant to visit “Gift from Land” Permaculture Farm, then have buffet style lunch at Satoyama Shokudo. The lunch costs 1700 yen per person.

フード・フォレスト・ジャパン「フルーツ・ツリー・ギルド作り」

今回は「フルーツ・ツリー・ギルド」を作ります。果樹の成長を助けるため、まわりに多様な有用植物を混植する窒素固定と風雪よけにネムノキ、窒素を供給するコンフリー、動物よけのハッカ、虫よけのにんにく、グランドカバーにイチゴなど。

ワークショップ後は、希望者で大地の芸術祭の作品のひとつ、パーマカルチャーの構築に取り組む香港農家の畑を見学し、ランチはまつだい農舞台内「里山食堂」の里山ビュッフェ（1,700円）を予定しています。
